Bold or bright? Strong or smooth? We break down the real differences between light and dark coffee roasts—so you can find your flavor lane and stick to it.
Light Roast: Bright, Fruity, and Full of Caffeine
Light roasts preserve more of the bean’s natural flavor—think citrus, fruit, and floral notes. They also retain slightly more caffeine than dark roasts. Our *Distribution 50:50* and *Feather in a Cap* blends are perfect examples.
Dark Roast: Bold, Rich, and Built for Power
Dark roasts like *Hot Rod Canon* or *Motor Oil* go all in. You’ll taste smoke, chocolate, and roasted depth. They feel strong, even though they technically have a touch less caffeine than light roasts.
Which Roast Should You Choose?
Choose light roast if you want:
✔️ Higher caffeine per scoop
✔️ Complex, fruity flavors
✔️ Cleaner finish
Choose dark roast if you want:
✔️ Big, bold taste
✔️ Heavier body
✔️ That classic “coffee shop” punch
Not sure? Try both. We roast every bag with care—so whatever you choose, you’re driving something with serious performance.
